Piotr Zemszał. I specialize in linguistics. My academic interests encompasses pragmatic linguistics and the so-called newspeak in the Soviet Union. I have a special interest for Russian culture and history. I did earn an MA on history of Eastern Europe and the following year I completed an MA in Russian studies, both at Nicolaus Copernicus University. In my doctoral dissertation I analyzed the nominations of Joseph Stalin and his post WWII image as presented in the Pravda – the leading newspaper in the Soviet Union. The extent of my research area within the framework of this project is the remains of so-called newspeak in the ideological discourse of the post soviet left-wing political groups.
