Michał Głuszkowski

Michał Głuszkowski, is assistant professor at the Institute of Slavonic Philology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He earned an MA in sociology (NCU, 2003) and Russian philology (NCU, 2005), and obtained his Ph.D in humanities and linguistics (NCU, 2009). His scientific interests include: bilingualism and its multidimensional phenomena; ethnic, religious and religious minorities – especially their language and identity problems; language islands; history of sociology – especially works of Polish and Russian scholars and their mutual influence.

 

At the Laboratory for Research on Collective Memory in Post-communist Europe Michał works on ethnocultural minorities in East-Central Europe and their attitude to the social change after the collapse of communism, with a special focus on Old believers in Poland and their fellow-countrymen in the Baltic countries.
